Our La Gordita Story
La Gordita is a natural addition to our family 10 years on from opening her sister Las Tapas de Lola. It's our long-awaited new member of the Hermanas Lola family offering Spanish bodega-style food and some delish wines to match too.
We opened Lola in 2013 and since day one have been planning a new arrival to our family. Lola originated from our desire for so many tapas we missed from home, so we thought, “Why not? Let’s go for it!”.
La Gordita, our little fat one, is bringing a slightly different corner of Spain to Dublin, but with a slightly “matured” twist – yes we said matured!
Over the last 10 years our palates, tastes and thirsts have matured so welcome little fat one! Check out our menu.
La Gordita (little fat one) is a term of endearment in Spain, especially in Anna’s family where we’d hear “Gordi”, “Gorda”, “Gordito” to name but a few. Took Vanessa a while to understand it was a term of endearment!!
But our Gordas are our beautiful mother & daughter pugs, Blossom & Florence. Hence the name and the motif line-drawing of our Blossom.

The restaurant is a reflection of its owners, Anna Cabrera (from Barcelona, but a long-time Dublin resident) and Vanessa Murphy (a Dublin native who has travelled Spain extensively). Together, through this cosy, friendly restaurant, they're raising the profile of the Spanish dishes that have shaped their lives.
